Surf Green is gorgeous and Fender originally used Surf Green (Duco 2461) between 1960 and 1965. Surf Green is the same color found on many 57 Chevys. As pretty as she is photographing her was a challenge. Depending upon the daylight; pics came out green while some came out blue and blue green.

This relic was inspired from 2003 American Fender Strat with a Rosewood fretboard, American Fender Custom Shop Texas Specials Pups, 5-way switch, 500k Vol Pot with Treble Bleed Circuitry. Over the weeks of November, and after several coats of nitro lacquer were applied, sanded then hand rubbed, we aged the guitar, added texture and rendered it ready to accept several final nitro satin clear coats. Once applied clear coats were processed by hand for hours, rendering and honing the finish to a polished high gloss surface which was then softened to a gorgeous smooth aged satin luster.
The finished product is just incredible. The fine spider web finish checking was artfully applied and is generous throughout this spectacular relic finish making this a true one-off. Vintage tuners, bridge saddles, screws and hardware were aged then sealed, so that they will look tomorrow, the way they look today for years to come.

Frets were leveled and polished for easy playing. Mojo added with pigment and texture to realistically replicate age and feel of that old guitar you always wanted but could never afford.
